The Homewalk Committee is the only committee that works year-round and puts on the biggest fundraiser for the club. This year the committee had a big goal – reach $20,000 in sponsorships and they knocked it out of the park with a total of $20,650. That’s 25% more in sponsorships than 2016 and 39% more than 2015! The committee managed this feat even without a designated sponsorship chair by targeting a wider audience using a new business list provided by the Chamber of Commerce in addition to previous donors. Sandy Weimer, Melissa Anderson, Ellisa Olsen, Michele Atwell and Carole Calvert Baxter teamed up to mail letters, make many calls and secure the funding. For 2017 ticket prices were increased by $5 and that resulted in increased revenue of $4,068 based on the actual numbers of tickets sold. The total revenue from ticket sales was down from 2016, but on par with 2013-15 (see graph). The additional advertising and support provided by the Alden B. Dow Home in 2016 resulted in ticket sales and attendance numbers that were significantly higher than usual. Average guests per home varies year to year and can be affected by weather. This year’s weather was clear and not too cold yielding an average guest count per home of 697 (see graph for comparison with available data). We'd like to thank the entire committee for all of their efforts in making this event a huge success and Nancy Barker for opening her home and hosting the After Glow. 2017 Homewalk Committee: Co-Chair: Carole Calvert-Baxter Co-Chair: Crystal Corbat Finance: KayLeigh Stachowiak Homeowner / Decorator Liaison: Nancy Barker Homeowner / Decorator Liaison: Sharon Mortensen Homeowner Gifts, Sponsorship (intrm), Misc. – Sandy Weimer Write Ups: Cynthia Chilcote Publicity: Cindy Vickery Hostesses: Jennifer Chappel Hostesses Co-Chair: Darlene Anderson Print Specialist: Melissa Anderson Tickets / Posters: Esther Williams Rest Stop: Andrea Foster Rest Stop: Elissa Olson Afterglow: Michele Atwell Comments are closed.
