 Jean Selby was a member of the Zonta Club of Midland for 23 years, and has involved her adult daughters in our Zonta Club. She was always champion of entrepreneurs and the advancement of women through education and business opportunities. Jean spoke at entrepreneurial educational conferences on a panel representing women in business. In her role as President of SAVANT, Inc., Jean traveled extensively world-wide with husband Ted, to develop and grow their SAVANT, Inc. business, promoting the products in Japan & China, throughout Asian European .
As a Zonta member from 1989 through 2012, Jean served two years on the Board as chair of the Status of Women committee, spent many years on the Service committee working with the educational scholarships process, and served on many other committees over the years. It was an honor for me to have sponsored Jean into our Zonta Club. She was a delightful, interesting lady, widely read on many subjects, and fun to work with.
